Foliage damaged by hotter than usual sun early in late Spring. On the west side.
Wood dust, holes. Borers killed this Port Orford Cedar. 1st time I saw this on this species.
Interesting natural graft on Willow. I just left it. Interesting. Called Inosculation.
Pruning cut closer 14 months after the cut. Marked to keep track of future photos.
One guess is embedded fire damage. A better guess is old spur spike climbing wounds.
It's better to anchor into a stem than to wrap wire or chain all the way around it.
