Evergreens = 12 months of color

Green may not be the brightest color … but it’s the most practical option for landscape color spanning from January 1st to December 31st.  As a general practice, I like to include at least 50% evergreen plant material when drawing landscape design plans.

There are several options too, ranging from broadleaf evergreens like Camellia, to needle bearing conifers like Hemlock. Included here, are several types of evergreens I photographed this winter of 2013.
