This photo seems to show perfectly, something I’ve shared before about Big Tree in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, how the big side branch seems like a person’s hand on their hip. It also reminds me of a cup handle. This wide angle lens photo and some imagination seems to lend the impression that the tree is mimicking the woman, or she doing likewise of the tree’s form. This giant Coast Redwood is about 1 minute of time off Drury Parkway. The limb referred to is on the left side … it must have taken centuries to grow to that size and shape. My guess is that it used to extend much lower and broke off.
