For those redwood visitors who can enjoy variety during vacations, the redwood coast will reward your photo collection if  there is a willingness to get up early, maybe stay up a bit later, and be flexible on your redwood forest photography. Basically, if weather is overcast or foggy, the redwoods are feasible to photograph sunrise to almost sunset. If the weather is sunny, it may be worth checking the big trees out early morning when the lighting is better, or fog is burning-off and sun rays beaming through.  Anyway, I found that the city of Eureka often affords some entertainment for food and photos. There are some old buildings, wildlife areas, water, boats and an assortment of street urchins.
