Last week, in Redwood National Park, my exploring partner and I concurred that Tall Trees Grove and trail are worthy of 5 stars rating on a 5/5 scale. We brought water shoes and used the river bank to extend the hike’s length. The few crossings were mostly 12 inches deep and one slightly over knee deep. We watched a couple of herons moving in front of us as we walked. This image is from September 2014, after a day’s adventure in Tall Trees Grove and some photography along Redwood Creek. It’s a 7pm 15 second long exposure  from the overlook after leaving the gate following sunset.
