Tall Coast Redwoods along Hiking Trail.

Redwood Shapes and Faces

Continued from: Coast Redwood Information

The Coast Redwood forest has plenty of unusual shapes which can engage imagination. Here are a few examples. Click on the photos for a better look. One seems to look like a lion minus the mane. That's in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. The 2nd is in Stout Grove of Jedediah Smith redwoods. The 3rd is Miners Ridge trail in Prairie Creek. The 4th is illuminated at night time in Jedediah Smith redwoods at Walker Rd.. The 5th is also in Jed Smith, but out in the middle of the forest. Some people imagine a bear ... other's an old geezer ... depends on what angle you look at first. The 6th is along Prairie Creek trail, about 2.8 miles north of the visitor center. The 7th along Nickerson Ranch trail in Jedediah Smith redwoods ... but only for a while when the light and angle are just right.

Take your time in the Coast Redwoods to enjoy all the shapes which have taken form over the centuries.
