If you look carefully at the top of the hemlock, there are shapes that resemble an old man&#8217;s mustache, and large nose. \u00a0Like our other post-2013 discoveries, specific tree names are not being published. So for now, its just the unusual, very tall Western Hemlock<\/p>\n<p>From my main redwood page is a link for a previous world record hemlock find in the same park. We found several very tall hemlocks in the park ranging from 235 ft. to 273 ft.. We suspect that there are even taller ones. I don&#8217;t plan to apply for a collection permit. Even if this hemlock is rare, I see no big benefit to propagation.
