Hornbeam Tree Hedge

Just staked and pruned about twenty 16′ tall Columnar Hornbeam trees at a residence in Beaverton. Someone else planted them early autumn … my part was pruning, staking and mulching. The idea is a tall hedge, and it’s intended to be sheared later to contain size and provide privacy. Generally I don’t offer much for shearing because it does not necessarily require much skill or experience, but the establishment part is different.

Been a while since I’ve worked with one of these. The last one was in Tigard, but done as a hedge to keep growing upward, rather than constrained with shearing.
