Just wrapped up 2 more days of exploring in the Coast Redwoods again, with Chris Atkins of Santa Rosa. We spent most of one day  in a remarkable patch of forest … The Catacombs. The location is unique, but compared to other groves, the “Atlas Grove” that Preston wrote about in The Wild Trees, is the first thing that came to mind. Here’s one of the redwoods we found this week. I am on the left side of the trunk in a green shirt for scale.
